We don’t like to think that everything we do is about preparing children for school, but in fact we are always working towards the next stage in your children’s development. We work hard to ensure that we not only meet the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, but exceed it, by delivering our own unique curriculum covering Performing and Visual Arts, Sport, ICT services and Self Discovery. By doing these things we are preparing children for school and for life.
Good early education aims to make sure your children grow and develop at their own pace, are healthy, safe and always supports children preparing for taking their next step, including going to school. At The London Preschool, we develop individual plans for each child to foster their development based on their own particular needs, talents, abilities, and interests while bearing in mind their future readiness for school.
School preparedness includes all of the following:
We aim to develop self-confidence, self-belief and independence. We encourage and nurture independence from a young age so that children learn how to feed themselves, pour their own drinks, make food, learn to dress themselves and to make other choices. They learn to follow instructions, take turns and share, sit for periods of time and work on their concentration and other key life skills.
We also introduce children to letters and sounds so that they can recognise their names and other important phrases and words. Those that are able, might begin to read words and even sentences. We also teach children to write letters and words such as their names. As well as literacy, children learn to recognise numerals At The London Preschool. Using real objects in daily routines and in play-based activities children learn to recognise numerals, to count and to do simple addition and subtraction and are introduced to the concept of size and shape.
We provide interesting opportunities and exciting resources for children to Explore | Discover | Create | Learn.
